Every day when parents send their kids to school they deserve to know that their kids are safe and learning in the classroom.
Teachers deserve to know that they will be able to do what they do best: preparing kids to thrive.
Instead, extremist groups are trying to take over school boards, and Wichita is no exception.
Groups that want to:
Ban books.
Slash school funding.
Inject politics into the classroom.
Our teachers are still recovering from the Brownback budget cuts and the pandemic. They need a school board that supports them.
And Wichita needs a school board that will make sure our schools are a place where teachers can teach, parents can feel safe dropping off their kids, and where our students thrive.
Melody McCray-Miller, Stan Reeser and Ngoc Vuong know student success comes from learning, not banning books. They have indicated they will make sure our schools work for our kids, teachers and the community.
